Once or twice a month The Yoga Tree helps local community charities that are working to protect and restore our local environment. This is a chance to get out of town, and explore some of the most beautiful places Norfolk has to offer. At the same time the hands on work of conservation can provide an ideal opportunity to practice Karma Yoga
Karma Yoga is a way of getting the benefits of yoga in everything you do. If you find that you feel drained, tired, injured, or stressed by your work karma yoga may be the solution. Or if you are an active person who would like the benefits of meditation, if only you could sit still, then karma yoga is for you too.
Practice of karma yoga removes negative habits and prevents stress. By making you more aware of your body you can prevent working in a way the causes injury, by making you more aware of your mind you can escape harmful habits, and by creating a harmony and integration between yourself and what you do you can prevent stress.
You do not need to have practiced yoga before, and there are no poses involved. To learn more about Karma Yoga you can pre-order my book Gateways to Health: Karma Yoga online. Or just come to one of our Karma Yoga days.
Currently we are helping the Bergh Apton Conservation Trust restore the local nature reserve. This takes place on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 10am until about lunchtime.
